No participant could have won the 7 crore question in KBC, if it had been “Why did Kattappa kill Bahubali? This is one question thrown to the viewers of Bahubali – The Beginning.
Well began is half done. Now the country is on the edge of the seat to get the answer to the million dollar question.
When Indian filmdom was floundering in star power and box office counters, a young engineer turned producer-director built a period film of epic proportion both in terms of budget and contents. Big budgets films as an axiom, big, because of star compensation. S.S.Rajamouli, chose to channelize the budget more on art direction, stunts and creating stunning visuals. The city scape of the kingdom, the battle scenes and the avalanche merit special mention. Bahubali-“The Beginning”(2015) was really a new beginning.
In a recent interview, S.S.Rajamouli, when quipped whether he was irritated with the question “Kattappa ne Bahubali ko kyon mara? He replied with a grin, “I am happy about the curiosity, every question guarantees a hundred rupee ticket”
The Kattappa has been a graffiti on walls, auto rickshaws and even on the lips of our Honorable Prime Minister, Shri. Narendra Modi in one of his addresses.
The much awaited Bahubali-The Conclusion, is hitting the screens today across the country and abroad. Young and old alike would never have been waiting for a sequel with this kind of eagerness and effervescence. It has already broken the record counter for advance booking ever. A first Telugu film to be released in 4K HD format.
S.S.Rajamouli is a tiger that has scented the blood. In a small budget movie Eega (housefly) he has established his craft, pan India. The visionary in him manifested in Bahubali-The Beginning. Bahubali-The Conclusion would rather be prequel than a sequel. It won’t be just a myopic vision to provide an answer to the national nagging question. Expect a very powerful action drama with greater visuals and stunt choreographies.
Bet your last rupee that it would be a power struggle on the lines of Maximus Vs Commodus, we had seen in “Gladiator”. It is Bahubali Vs Bhallaladeva. The Beginning was a plot of dots. Expect the conclusion to be a major cinematic experience of romance, passion, treachery and chivalry. Hats off to S.S. Rajamouli, “The lord of the Indian Ring”
We often see the word hype wrongly placed. It is often referred to a scene before the event. S.S.Rajamouli made a film that commanded a major adulation and appreciation after the event. Hype now for Bahubali-The Conclusion, merits all the noise and hysteria. The trailers and teasers have promised enough to expect a fitting finale experience for the viewers. Inferring from the post production interviews, the makers are talking about the soul. A creator who works on his soul and only his soul seldom fails to deliver. Notwithstanding, the uncertainties of the dream merchants, this film is sure to succeed and break new barrios in Indian Cinema.
Viewers in the age group of 50 and above will have patriotic pride in watching a film that is so gargantuan that it can be talked in the same breath as “TEN COMMANDMENTS”, “CLEOPATRA” & “BENHUR”.
The first batch of viewers would have come out of the cinema halls by now. The FDFS (First day First show) friends please play a sport. Keep the answer for question with you as a secret. Question leak is OK, the answer leak is almost antinational. Waiting viewers, stay on upvas of reviews and comments and watch the film with a blank mind and high hope. Knowing the unknown is always a major thrill.
Twitter is already hit by the storm named Bahubali. Today the conversations are pouring in every minute. Here is a look at the numbers so far (last one week). This data has been collected by Konnect Insights.
