“You can’t buy engagement, you have to build engagement.” – Tara Nicholle Nelson.
Social media content is not just about posting creatives or writing fancy captions, there is a lot more to it. Social media marketing is a whole big concept. In this digital-savvy world, people tend to rely more on social media even before making any purchase decisions.
Before diving into the concept, let us first dip in our toes and understand what Call-To-Action is?
What is a “Call-To-Action”?
The answer to it is in the question itself, it is legit a call to take an action. A call to action is a statement which can be in the form of image or text, which brisk the target audience to respond and take action, in simple words you are giving your viewers a direct call for what they have to do after viewing it. Call to action is also known as CTA. Action taken can be on anything be it “Click on the link below to read the article”, or “Visit www.abcd.com and order now.”
Note: The tonality you use or the way you ask them to take action also plays a major role.
How to create an eye-catchy “Call-To-Action”,
-It should be compelling– Language, design, and color you use should be in such a way that your “Call-To-Action” makes the audience notice its existence.
-Good Content Quality– Just using clever captions won’t work, quality of the copy you use should be so good that the viewers cannot resist themselves to take an action.
-Match the expectations– Make sure you don’t disappoint your target audience, before responding to the “Call-To-Action” the content you put should speak for itself. By doing this they will already have clarity of what will be the outcome.
-Visibility– The whole idea of putting a “Call-To-Action” is to make people notice it. It should be the most eye-catchy thing on the page. The font size should be large enough to gain attention.
-Keep it as short as possible– Even in our 2-minute break or while traveling we tend to check our social media. Short and simple content catches our attention first.
-Make it sound immediate– the Internet is the biggest place one can never finish exploring. We get distracted by so many things there, as soon as we see something more attractive we switch. So try to use phrases like Hurry up order now, offer limited or *Sale ends soon*that is how you will create a sense of urgency.
Before you craft a “Call-To-Action”, first check your CTA is for top of funnel or for the bottom of the funnel. The phrase you use will differ for both the cases.
For example, top of the funnel CTA will demand phrases like “Read More” and for the bottom of the funnel CTA will be like “Sign up now for a free membership” or “visit our website to buy now”.
