HOW TO UPGRADE YOUR INSTAGRAM TRUST SCORE?

February 11, 2021 by admin
Reading Time: 3 minutes

Instagram is the modern-day means to brand communication and marketing. With an excellent built-in tracking system, Instagram allows businesses to track every move made by a user or consumer on a brand’s profile – and these actions contribute to a “trust score”.

What is an Instagram Trust Score?

With the growing reliance on the digital world, brands and businesses are fighting for visual space on social media platforms like Instagram. Many companies find ways to increase their follower count by using immoral methods like engaging with fake followers or creating fake accounts to comment on posts and like them to gather more visibility. This effectively reduces the efficacy of a profile.

Instagram is devoted to verifying accounts and ascertaining trustworthiness. Since it aims to be a platform which connects real people with real businesses, reliability is one of its primary values. Instagram assesses trustworthiness by analysing every action that takes place on your account – from when a user accesses a profile, to clicks on images, likes and follows, Instagram stores all this data to create a trust score.

In other words, a trust score helps in determining the gap between a profile’s genuine activity and spam-like activity. To maintain an Instagram account, profiles should have high trust scores.

Can you find out your Instagram Trust Score?

No, profile users cannot access their trust score. Instagram’s algorithms form the trust score to check whether your profile is operated by bots and is a fake account generating spam content. If an account gets blocked regularly by other users or has a high probability of having posts being reported by others, then the Instagram trust score is likely to be on the lower end.

Things to Avoid to Maintain your Instagram Trust Score

You should avoid some techniques to ensure that your business’s Instagram profile has a high trust score.

  • Fake followers and comments

To boost business views, don’t indulge in purchasing fake followers, likes or comments. Instagram’s algorithms are designed to detect fake account activity, leading to instant account blocking. If you automate comments and likes through bots, your user engagement is bound to go down – giving Instagram another indication that fake profiles follow your account.

  • Irrelevant Content

When you post content, Instagram lets only about 10% of your followers view the content and then analyses how this number reacts or engages with your content. If there is little or no engagement, the algorithm is likely to impact your score negatively. That is why it is increasingly important to have engaging content that allows users to interact with your profile.

  • Comment Pods

Many businesses follow a ‘comment for comment’ technique where a group of users comment on each other’s posts to grow the number of comments and depict higher engagement. Instagram’s algorithms are designed to depict such instances, thus wasting time and effort creating a comment pod to manually undertake this activity. This also leads to a poor trust score in the long run.

Ways to Raise your Instagram Trust Score

Now that you know how to avoid decreasing your trust score on Instagram let’s examine a few ways to revive and raise it.

  • Consistent Posting

To maintain good engagement with your users, you need to post consistently and regularly. This, in turn, helps increase your follower base and allows your trust score to rise with time. Keep the limit to one or two posts a day, and post relevant content that is engaging and valuable to users.

  • Respond Genuinely

If you want to engage with your audience, then throw in genuine responses by responding to users organically. Do not automate responding to comments posted by users.

  • Follow Facebook Friends

Some actions on Instagram cannot be automated – such as following friends from a linked Facebook profile. Utilize this action now and then allow the algorithm to know the account is managed manually by a real person.

  • Remove fake followers

Keep a tab on your follower base – especially if your account is not private. Even if you don’t follow fake profiles, there is a tendency for bot profiles and fake profiles to follow your account. It’s easy to detect a fake profile – usually, such profiles don’t have photos or have fake photos, don’t have proper bios, and have spam content. Regularly clean out followers and remove any followers that you feel do not have genuine profiles.

Instagram is evolving as we speak and offers businesses an excellent opportunity to connect with users. However, to use this platform to your benefit, you need to keep a high Instagram trust score by following the community’s rules.
