Reading Time: 6 minutes

Everyone is aware that planning is the key to successfully executing a job. When it comes to marketing, nothing beats content marketing because of its power to reach a wider audience. Indeed, to make the most out of content marketing, the most common strategy that businesses employ is to use a content calendar.

The groundwork for what the business intends to share and promote across all marketing channels, particularly on certain important days of the month, is provided by content calendars. The content topics and posting schedule can be defined to fit the target and goal of each marketing platform with the help of a well-planned and coordinated content calendar.

September is just around the corner now. Identify those special September “days” or festivities with which the audience will resonate. Consider an ideal client. What interests them besides business and the topics one often discusses? Just because someone follows someone because of the business-related content doesn’t mean they won’t be interested in something beyond that. Putting everything together in a well-planned content calendar will help one stay ahead in the game while maintaining that rapport with the target market.

Here is a list of the festivals and special days of September that one can use to create a content marketing strategy and boost engagement and interaction rates with the audience.

Use this guide on the major days of September and strategically use it in your content marketing strategy. Consider writing about occasions like Chocolate Milkshakyoure Day to appear more accessible and human.

5th September – Teachers’ Day

The second President of India, Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, was born on September 5, celebrated as Teachers’ Day in India. When some of his pupils visited Dr Radhakrishna one day in 1962 to wish him a happy birthday, the custom of observing his birthday as Indian Teachers’ Day was started. He urged them to recognize this day (September 5) to honor and remember all the outstanding teachers from Bangladesh and India. Since then, every year on the 5th of September, everyone across the country wishes their teachers and gurus health and happiness.

The Cello group celebrated Teachers’ Day in a fun and engaging way. Their Facebook post features a video of interaction with some people reliving their fondest memories with their teachers. Creativity, fun, the right message, and relatability helped this post by Cello easily connect with millions of people.

15th September – Engineers’ Day

Engineers Day is a unique occasion to honor engineers’ accomplishments and spread awareness of the value engineering brings to society. In many nations, it is observed on different days. On Engineers’ Day in India, Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, a renowned Indian engineer and statesman, is remembered. He is credited with working on the biggest dams in Asia by skillfully developing and constructing them. One of the most notable dams is Karnataka’s Krishna Raja Sagara Dam. Engineers Day is a chance to recognize engineers for their dedication and inspire young people to think about a career in engineering.

On September 15th, India celebrates Engineers Day. Today, businesses share social media messages and articles to honor engineers. This can be seen, for instance, in a message released by TATA Power India, which stated that “Engineers are the backbone of every nation’s progress.” To all the engineers out there, have a very happy Engineers Day. ” Other big brands, including Siemens and Philips India, shared similar messages on social media. Thus, Engineers Day is a unique opportunity for businesses to interact with engineering clients and followers.

Volvo India celebrated Engineers Day with a power-packed Facebook post. The post acknowledges the skills and expertise of engineers who craft multiple solutions for communities. The social media message drew curiosity, apparent from the posts’ number of likes. The brand highlighted its automobile, the engineering that went into it, and what makes it a robust and safe machine.

Not just a brand associated with engineering machines, many foods, and beverage brands also celebrate Engineers Day creatively. For example, ParleG shared a post on Facebook with an array of pictures that recalled the good days of engineering colleges. Certainly, the post was relatable and sparked engagement as it asked its followers to tag their friends from their student days.

21st September – International Day of Peace

The UN created the International Day of Peace in 1981 to raise awareness against violence and war. Nearly 40 years later, Peace Day is observed globally on September 21st. By observing September 21st on social media, brands can bring out their best in front of their online community and establish themselves as content marketing leaders.

The well-known tea company, Brooke Bond Tea, launched a campaign to support its brand mission to commemorate the International Day of Peace. They intended to demonstrate how a casual conversation over tea can diminish boundaries and widen hearts and minds for World Peace Day by encouraging people to do just that.

The campaign is set in a surreal setting to demonstrate how, in today’s divided society, people frequently lump themselves and others into subgroups based on their worldviews before realizing they share more things in common than not. The campaign doesn’t appear ignorant about solving global concerns, but it’s a wonderful start when businesses bring these problems to light and encourage people to think about them.

27th September – World Tourism Day

World Tourism Day, observed annually on September 27, honors tourism’s contribution to the destinations’ economies and communities. The United Nations World Tourism Organization created the day in 1980 to increase public awareness of tourism’s contribution to the global economy. What a perfect day to discuss travel and far-off places. The travel industry has the potential to demonstrate its commitment to sustainable tourism practices. Asking the audience about their preferred vacation spot will help them connect with them.

Brands can capture the wanderlust of the target audience and motivate them to travel more through powerful and inspiring social media posts on World Tourism Day. Brands frequently use World Tourism Day to exhibit their goods and services and advertise sales and discounts.

Onesta created a post combining food and travel perfectly for the occasion of World Tourism Day. The post immediately grabs attention as it features a picture of a sumptuous dish liked by people from all over the world. Plus, the design of the picture excellently captures the theme of World Tourism Day with a world map over it. Thus, it was able to capture maximum attention.

28th September – World Rabies Day

Every year on September 28, the world observes World Rabies Day. The day’s purpose is to concentrate on preventative measures and raise awareness of the viral illness’s effects. It is the sole international day of activism and rabies prevention and control education.

In addition to raising awareness, September 28 has been chosen since it is the anniversary of the passing of eminent French chemist and microbiologist Louis Pasteur, who, together with his colleagues, created the first ever efficient anti-rabies vaccine.

The Rabies Alliance Group urged people through a Facebook post to register and join hands in participating in an awareness event.

Takeaway

By outlining what and when one will post, a content calendar can help to organize the content ideas according to the month’s important upcoming dates. One won’t have to worry about coming up with a topic just before the need to get to work and compose the next piece because the deadline is rapidly approaching if one has a content calendar.

A content calendar is helpful for brands since it helps them stay organized and on task. Additionally, it is great for brainstorming, and there will probably be a burst of original ideas. The content calendar will undoubtedly assist in choosing better themes and concepts, as well as in saving some for later use.

Offering the audience consistently informative, timely, and fun content – especially on significant days – is the key to staying on their radar. No matter how much the audience enjoys the writing efforts, irregular posting or skipping special days leads to an out-of-sight-out-of-mind situation.

It’s exciting to create content, but if one wants to do it right, one can’t just wing it. Put simply, brainstorming a few ideas the day before publishing the following post is not a trade that will yield a profit. Additionally, it may eventually harm content marketing.

Every piece of content needs to be in line with the entire marketing and branding plan for it to be successful. And to do that and maintain a regular schedule, one needs a comprehensive and itemized content calendar. Spreadsheet and Excel tools are widely available for businesses to create a September content calendar.
