In this age of digital media where social media rules, it has become essential for every marketing professional, (whether traditional or digital), brand managers, people searching for jobs, etc. to have a LinkedIn account.  It is a platform where people share their expertise via articles, blogs (written or shared by them) talking about tips, news, and updates from around various industries to your daily feed. Users can easily connect with their community by linking up with brand pages and groups on LinkedIn. This is the only platform which helps the people in growing their network with professionals, corporates, etc. as it hosts around 500 million professionals, which means it is a sea of endless opportunities.

Given below are reasons which make it vital for every professional or a job seeker to create his/her presence on LinkedIn

Build your connections – The connections which you make on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. are not professional connections; those are called general connections which majorly comprises of friends and family. LinkedIn, like no other social media platform, gives you the chance to connect with the professionals of various companies and help build relations which might be helpful for your individual growth.

LinkedIn’s Extensive Job Listing – LinkedIn is the platform that provides us with a feature of job search as per our requirement. You can apply to sort on the basis of company, experience level, etc. and find your desired business profile.

Receive (and give) endorsements – This is the feature that actually gives a job-seeking candidate the edge. The ‘+1’ feature usually catches the eye of a recruiter. This can be done by endorsing the skills of others and getting your skills endorsed by others. You can even ask a person whom you may very well know, could be a friend or a colleague to write up some recommendations on your profile.

Join Communities and Groups on LinkedIn – LinkedIn allows all its users to join professional groups or communities so that they can learn more about their interest areas and keep themselves updated.

Establish your expertise by using the LinkedIn platform – Writing blogs and posting it on your LinkedIn profile with relevant hashtags can help you reach a larger audience which might help you connect to professionals of the same field and help establish your expertise in the domain.

Research other businesses – By now you can see that many of the companies are already on LinkedIn. LinkedIn helps users to search for businesses as per their requirements and makes it easy for any user to get in touch with the employees of the organization. Most importantly, building in connections can be beneficial for any business’s growth.
