12 January – National Youth Day

National Youth Day commemorates Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy and ideals. It is a day to recognise the contributions of young people in society and encourage them to participate in the country’s development. Many also use it to celebrate the achievements of young people and appreciate their role in society. 

Marketing to young people is of utmost importance to brands, and Youth Day is a perfect occasion to do this. This day can be used as an opportunity for brands to encourage the younger audience to interact with the brand and products, widening the brand’s reach.

13 January – Lohri Day

Lohri is celebrated across India and the names vary as per the region. While in Maharashtra it is celebrated as Makar Sankranti, in Tamil Nadu it is celebrated as Pongal. Since it is the harvest festival, people across the cultures celebrate it along with sweet dishes prepared from milk and grains. 
To tap into the festive mood of the people, Mcdonald’s launched their own delicacy prepared with condensed milk and fragrant rice in 2018. 15 January – Indian Army Day

Indian Army Day is celebrated in recognition of General KM Cariappa becoming the first Indian taking charge of the Indian Army in 1949. Citizens thank our brave armed forces for their constant support and service to our country on this day.

24 January – National Girl Child Day, International Day Of Education

The National Girl Child Day is observed to raise awareness around gender equality, rights, safety, and education of girls that will further aid in the growth and development of India. Many brands embraced the theme on National Girl Child Day with thought-provoking social media posts and advertisements.

Mahindra Group, Jos Alukkas, and Spicejet used their creative advertising outlets to celebrate Girl Child Day to send out the message of gender equality and promote active engagement of the girl child.

26 January – Republic Day

The citizens are preparing to watch the parade as India celebrates its 73rd Republic Day in 2022. The country remains united despite what’s happening around the country. Republic day is one of the most important days in January.
